A big problem with returning to normal is that the old normal was pretty bad in a lot of ways.
We were in denial about a lot things. We ,(as a society), KEPT putting off painful choices for another day, making this our goto response to so many things.
Things that we said that we did not like but felt powerless to change.
Now that the virus has changed so much , so completely, if things go back to the way we were WE CANNOT CLAIM IT IS AN ACCIDENT.
We will have to put those Things that we said that we did not like but felt powerless to change BACK ON PURPOSE WITH OUR EYES WIDE OPEN.
That would mean INTENTIONALLY recreating the conditions that led to homelessness , addiction , corruption and poverty so that could have the 'comfort' of returning to the old way.
Think about that.

We will have to make an official and public effort to return to : STARVATION WAGES ,LACK OF HEALTH CARE, FORCED HOMELESSNESS, CORPORATE PIRACY .............
That way is gone! We can no longer hide behind the facts by saying THAT IS JUST THE WAY IT IS.
IT IS NOT THAT WAY ANYMORE.
WE WILL HAVE TO DELIBERATELY PUT BACK ALL THE THINGS WE CLAIMED TO HAVE DISAGREED WITH BUT FELT POWERLESS CHANGE.
I do not know about you, but I'm not going to help the return to the old 'status quo' that hurt so many for so long
